  1. Thanks everyone for the advice. I haven't got round to telephoning the provincial office yet, but it's good to know that these things do take time and not I've just been missed or forgotten. I'll exercise patience and wait...
  2. Hi, I filled in an online "I am interested" form on a provincial website a month ago now, but haven't heard anything back yet. In the meantime, I've been looking around and Blenheim House in Batley is the closest to where I live, and is home to three lodges. Further research showed that of those three, only one meets on a day of the week that I am regularly free. I guess I'm looking for advice really. I understand the masonic wheels can turn slowly, so am I simply being impatient, and should wait a little longer? Or if something should have happened by now (and it's not beyond the realms that I entered my contact details wrong), should I contact the province again? Or as I've identified a suitable lodge nearby, should I contact them directly? I'm unsure whether there is any etiquette to follow here, or whether there are more considerations when choosing a lodge than locality and day of the week. Thanks in advance for any advice! Apologies if I'm overthinking things and asking silly questions!
  3. Thanks for the welcome everyone!
  4. Thanks guys. I'll be sticking around. I'm sure I will have questions - right now I'm just trying to exercise patience, and am looking forward to starting the journey!
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome! And thank you for the advice. I must admit, when I start something new I do have a tendency to try and find out as much as I can as quickly as I can. I won't with this though - I'll try my best to do what is required, but will go with the flow... :-)
  6. Hello from West Yorkshire! Just outside Leeds to be more precise. I'm currently a non-Mason, but hoping to change this in the near future. I've always been interested in Freemasonry, but assumed it was invite only - not knowing any Masons I never looked any further. Since learning this isn't the case I've been reading as much as I can (including lurking and reading this site), and am now interested in taking things further. I've been looking for a social way to spend my time, but something with a purpose and benefit (and I'm still fascinated by the ceremonial aspect - just up my street). Anyway, I filled in the enquiry form on the West Riding Province website a few weeks ago, and I'm just waiting for a reply... Hopefully I'll be able to start making a contribution soon!
