Ban on KT mugs

Recommended Posts

Typical Daily Mail hyperbole in the headline

Seems its another one of those cases where someone is crying 'persecution' when actually being a nasty piece of work

This is the exceptionally telling sentence in the story:

"Miss Gayle had previously been warned by the council for selling Nazi memorabilia. "

She actually sold Nazi memorabilia to the re-enactment groups, of which the Great central Railway and the Cosby WWII display are two such close by large events held every year.  Yes she sold mugs with the Nazi emblems on them and was told to remove them.  She also sold mugs with the KT reference on them and was barred.  Judging her a nasty piece of work without knowing the full facts, is a little pre-emptive.  The selling of Nazi memorabilia is not yet illegal in the UK, but market owners, are within their right to impose restrictions as they choose, subject to various laws unlawfully restricting the rights of others.  There is certainly no restriction on the selling of anything with a reference to the Knight Templars and maybe the authority that barred her for selling them, should check their history on the real background of the Knight Templars and battles against Saladin's hordes.
